Cartlidge & Browne - Merlot 2005

Type: Merlot
Year: 2005
Rating: 4 - Would definitely buy it again
Price:10.99
Where Bought: ? I need to keep better track of where I buy these wines....
Comments: This was a nice bottle of wine. Nice Aroma, (none of that wet paper texture), and a nice smooth taste. (I seem to have better luck with Merlot's), over all nice wine, I would definitely buy it again.

Louis Martini - Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Type: Cabernet Sauvignon
Year: 2006
Rating: 4 - Would definitely buy it again
Price: 11.99
Where Bought: ?
Comments: Very Nice wine. Had it before in a restaurant and wanted to try it at home. Will buy again. However, we are noticing that wines bought at restaurants seem to taste better than the supposedly equivalent store bought counter-parts. I wonder why that is ? Is it just my imagination ? Or perhaps the establishment buys it in volume and maybe it comes in a wooden wine keg instead of a bottle ? I still haven't figured this one out...

Francis Ford Coppola - Rosso 2006

Type: Rosso (48% Zinfandel, 27% Syrah, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon)
Year: 2006
Rating: 5 - One of my favorites
Price: 7.99
Where Bought: ?
Comment: I'm going to have to keep better track of where I buy the wine. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised. Much better than I expected. Although, recently, I tried Coppola's Diamond Collection, also a red, and really liked it as well. I will definitely buy it again. (Update), unfortunately, this wine has been replaced by its successors, the 2007 version and currently the 2009 version, neither of which has beaten this particular year.

Clos Du Bois - Cabinet Sauvignon 2005

Type: Cabernet Sauvignon
Year: 2005
Rating: 3 - I may try it one more time
Price: 14.49
Where Bought:
Comment: Not as good as their Merlot. A little thin or light, watery. Will continue to buy their Merlot's but I will buy other Cabernet's. Another note: as I was once told, being a "North Coast" wine and not a specific vinyard, the quality may vary from time to time.

Banyon Station - Shiraz 2007

Type: Shiraz
Year: 2007
Rating: 3 - I would like to try it again
Price: 4.99, on sale for 3.99
Where Bought: I think Sendik's
Comments: South Eastern Australian. Pretty Good. This is a good example that a good wine doesn't have to cost alot.
